Claudio Lopez to KC?
This rumor made the rounds a few months ago on MLS Rumors. I didn't put much faith in it, because the site didn't list any sources with it. Today, though, we do have a reliable source. Steven Goff is reporting that the Wizards are currently in negotiations with the 33 year old Argentine. This would definitely be a big signing that would take some of the pressure off the front office from some fans who don't think the team has done enough this offseason. Lopez is currently playing for Racing Club in Argentina, and had played for the Argentine National Team in both the 98 and the 02 World Cup. Lopez would definitely help fill the gap left by Eddie Johnson leaving.

This is tremendous news. I am seriously hoping it will happen.
If the Wizards pull off this move, it will show a willingness on the part of management to improve now rather than holding pattern as it seemed. I will be happy to give credit where credit is due on this!
