India Fall in Asian Cup Opener

Sunil Chhetri went the full 90 minutes for India, and had their best chances, but India fell 4-0 to Australia in their opener of the AFC Asian Cup. The Australians, the highest ranked team in the Asian Confederation easily outclassed the lowest ranked Indian side. Three goals in the first half put the game well out of reach for India. A second half where they only allowed 1 goal and some decent chances of their own may give India a bit of hope heading into their second group game against Bahrain.

The above linked article certainly praises their fight and the fact they only allowed one second half goal. It appears the author's expectations were extremely low for the team saying that "India must take heart from their performance as they didn’t fall flat as people expected them to." Not that they should have been expected to really compete, but most of the comments just bury the team.
