September Player of the Month

September is over, and it's time to announce the September Player of the Month. In the month of September, the Wizards went 2-2, winning their two home games by the score of 2-0 over LA and Toronto. On the road the Wizards lost both their games, 3-1 against Houston and 2-1 at Chivas USA. Here are the Wizards stats for the month of September.

Davy Arnaud - 2 goal, 1 assist
Josh Wolff - 2 goal, 1 assist
Roger Espinoza - 2 assist
Herculez Gomez - 1 assist
Jack Jewsbury - 1 goal
Kevin Souter - 1 goal

For me, the vote came down to 3 players, Arnaud, Wolff, and Gomez.

Arnaud finished September with 2 goals and an assist. He scored the absolute Golazo against LA, and against Houston the hustle we all know and love from him led to the Wizards lone goal.

Wolff scored the winner against LA with a cheeky back heal, played a good cross in to Souter for his first career goal. Finally against Chivas he had this week's goal of the week, scoring off a bicycle kick.

Gomez, while he didn't have that big of a month stat wise, he had the intangibles in the month of September to step into the starting lineup and become a consistent threat for the Wizards. Goals from Gomez are certain to come.

And this month the player is...

While Arnaud was close, I have to give it to Wolff, he had a good month and looks like he's rounding into form late in the season.
