Octobert Player of the Month

The regular season is over, the playoffs start on Saturday, and it's time to award the final Down the Byline Player of the Month award for this season. In the month of October, the Wizards went undefeated, going 3-0-1 winning against New England at home and away, and San Jose at home. They also tied the Fire at home 1-1.

Here are the stats for the month of October
Claudio Lopez - 2 goals, 3 assists
Davy Arnaud - 2 goal
Herculez Gomez - 1 goal, 1 assist
Jimmy Conrad - 1
Michael Harrington - 1 goal
Jack Jewsbury - 2 assists
Roger Espinoza - 1 assist
Abe Thompson - 1 assist
Josh Wolff - 1 assist

As for who should win the award this month, my choice really came down to three players, Claudio Lopez, Davy Arnaud and Herculez Gomez.

Lopez only played in 2 of the 4 games in October, but made a big impact in the two he did play in, getting 2 goals and 3 assists, helping KC to wins over San Jose and in New England.

Arnaud scored the Wizards second goal against San Jose and the winner against New England, and continues to show the regular drive that we all expect from him.

Gomez got his first goal as a Wizard in the dramatic 3-2 win over San Jose, and also got another assist in the team's 1-1 draw with the Fire.

And the winner this month is.....

Claudio Lopez. Lopez may not have played in every single game this month, but being involved in 5 of the Wizards goals in this stretch run have been big, especially with Wolff being out. Hopefully he continues into the playoffs.
