Single Season Minutes

Continuing with the statistical updating that I've been doing, here's another new stat that I hadn't previously done. Here are the top 10 single season minutes for players throughout the team's history. As I mentioned a few times late in the year this year, Matt Besler ended up tied for the 3rd most minutes played in league play in team history. Here's a list of the single season minutes leaders in league play and in all competitions.

Top ten most minutes in a single season in league play.

The list is dominated by the 2000 season, which saw the back 3 and Tony Meola start 126 of a possible 128 games between the 4 of them. Meola and Mark Chung are the only two players to appear on the list twice in their career with the team.

Top ten most minutes in a single season in all competitions.

Once again the 2000 season dominates with over half the top 10 being from the championship season. Kerry Zavagnin and Chris Henderson join the list with the 4 from above. A trip to MLS Cup and 90 minutes by Besler would have jumped Besler all the way up to 4th place.
