Sporting KC to Play Sunday

Last night the New York Red Bulls beat FC Dallas 2-0 to move on to the Conference semifinals. Due to them being the 10 seed they will take on the top seeded LA Galaxy. That means that the Eastern Conference's top seed, Sporting KC will play the winner of tonight's game between Colorado and Columbus in cold and snowy Denver. It also means that KC will play the first leg of their conference semifinals series on Sunday evening in either Denver or Columbus Should make for a fun evening for those teams.

The question becomes who would people like to play now? Dallas won the unofficial poll I posted a few days ago, with Colorado finishing second, so is Colorado still the one you want to face? Here's some food for thought on both teams.

Colorado is without the team's all time leading scorer Conor Casey due to his injury earlier this season. The worry with the Rapids is their speed and having to go play at altitude. The good news is that if KC were to play Colorado it doesn't look like more snow is in the forecast, right now the forecast is 57 for a high 40 for a low on Sunday. In 5 trips to Dick's Sporting Goods Park, KC has yet to win, getting three draws and losing twice.

Columbus would have the toughest travel schedule to deal with, having flown out to Colorado, back to Columbus, play again on Sunday, then travel and play again on Wednesday forcing them to play 3 games in 6 days in 3 different cities. Which could play to KC's advantage. KC has actually beaten the Crew this year, winning at home earlier this year. KC also doesn't have a horrible record at Crew Stadium, winning 6 times, losing 9 and drawing 3 games in league play at the first soccer specific stadium. They did lose 1-0 there earlier this year, but this is a different team now.

So who do you want to win tonight's game?

Would rather not have to deal with the altitude in Denver. On short notice, you can't get the team there early and get them acclimated.
