KC Opening at Chivas, Will Host Chicago in Opener

MLS announced the 2011 First Kick for each team today and we now know 3 of Sporting's 34 games this season. KC will open the 2011 season on March 19th in LA as they take on former Wizards player, Jimmy Conrad, and Chivas USA. The game is at 9:30 central time at the Home Depot Center. This opener had been rumored a bit with the coincidence of Chivas' parent club and SKC's designated player Omar Bravo. It should be a fun weekend and one that I'll be sure to be at. So feel free to join me as it'll be a lot of fun.

The second week of the season, KC will continue their long road trip when they'll travel up to Chicago to take on the Fire. KC will help the Fire open Toyota Park for the 2011 season at 3pm on March 26th.

The Fire will return the favor in June when they travel to KC to be the first opponent in KC's new stadium on the 9th. The time of the game hasn't been announced, but per Robb Heineman at the rebranding announcement, the game is set to be on "national TV" which means an ESPN game to open the new stadium.

We also know a fourth game in the double header.

The double header isn't a SKC game, it's a Gold Cup double header.
