Wizards Win in Argentina UPDATE

In their rescheduled friendly with Defensa y Justicia this morning, the Wizards defeated Eloy Colombano's old club 1-0 on a goal by Lance Watson. It's the team's first win since they beat the US Under 17 team 3-0 in their first preseason game of the season, not counting the inter squad scrimmage. I'll update this once Hillcrest Road has updated with more information.

UPDATE: The team has posted again on their blog with the lineups for both halves. Watson scored in the 7th minute to give KC the lead. Just before the half, Kevin Hartman saved a PK to keep the score at 1-0. The interesting fact is that the Wizards went away from the 3-5-2 in this game, playing a standard 4-4-2 diamond. Other interesting bit of information, Colombano didn't play against his former team.

The Wizards also have a new trialist with the team too. According to the write up, the trialist's name is Paulo Troyano. No clue who that is, but I did find a Paulo Troyano on the roster for Deportivo Heredia in the Liga Nacional de Futbol in Guatemala. The Troyano there plays the right position and is from Argentina.

Got any thoughts on whether Lance 'Scrappy' Watson stays with the big club this year or does he get relegated to reserves?

I figured with the 3-5-2 he'd be likely to stay up but then I see they went 4-4-2 today.

Either way he seems to be playing and producing regularly this pre-season, although it is difficult to get too much detail.

Big Lance fan in Lobo-land and try to give updates at http://lobo-soccer.blogspot.com/

appreciate anything you've got - T.

I think he'll maybe be a bit more active with the first team this year, but not much. I can think of 3 wing players that didn't play today that would likely start ahead of Lance if they stick with the 4-4-2. That'd be Victorine, Colombano, and Arnaud, although Colombano and Arnaud are mainly right sided players.
