Kempin and US U-20's Fall in PKs

In the first game of the Torneo de las Americas today in Atlanta, the US Under 20 team fell on penalty kicks to the Colombian team. Sporting KC goalkeeper, Jon Kempin started in goal for the US. Based off of first hand reports, Kempin had some good saves in the game to keep the US in the game and retain the lead. Alex Zahavi scored the USA's goal 2 minutes before half time as a cross from Tristan Bowen was headed down by Sebastain Lleget for Zahavi to poke home. The USA held on with Kempin making a few big saves and some good defense. In the 86th minute though, Colombia found the equalizer which Kempin could do little about. The game went to penalty kicks, where the US only converted once of 4 while Colombia converted 3 of their 4. Kempin got his hands on one of the kicks but could not keep it out. The team will play Mexico later this weekend.

It's great to hear these young kids names that we're already familiar with from MLS teams and academies and not so many college unknowns.
