Wizards Trade for Herculez Gomez

Reports out of Denver today are saying that the Wizards have traded for Colorado forward, Herculez Gomez. The Denver Post is reporting that the Wizards have traded a fourth-round pick in the 2009 SuperDraft and first-round pick in the '09 supplimental draft and allocation money to the Rapids for the forward. After having a breakout season with the Galaxy in 2005, he's been unable to duplicate that success in LA or after being traded to Colorado before the 2007 season. He has 2 goals and an assist in 16 games this season.

Overall, not a bad move in my opinion, we had an abundance of draft picks (12) in the upcoming draft this year. So trading away 2 that will likely not make a big impact is a good move. The deal depends on how much allocation money the Wizards gave up to get Gomez.

Something had to be done and I guess the pickin's are slim at this point, but still, we basically just got Scott Sealy back.
