Sunday Afternoon

The Wizards are back on the field on Sunday when they travel down to Houston to take on the Houston Dynamo. KC has been busy the past couple days, adding two forwards to their roster by way of trades. Both Herculez Gomez and Abe Thompson are going to be available for selection for the game on Sunday. Will either or both start? I don't think so, but depending on how the game is going, I expect one or both to play in the game tomorrow. Houston will be undermanned for the game tomorrow, as 4 of their players have been called up for the World Cup Qualifiers this weekend. Pat Onstad and Dwayne DeRosario will both be with the Canadian national team to take on Honduras, while Brian Ching and Ricardo Clark are in Cuba where the US will take on Cuba.

The one big worry for the Wizards is a post by Thad over on The Back Post earlier this week where Thad posted that Wizards captain, Jimmy Conrad is injured and may not be able to go on Sunday. If so, that could mean big trouble for the Wizards, who have a fairly inexperienced back line as it is. also suspended for this game, is midfielder, Kurt Morsink, due to yellow card accumulation. I think we may see a few shake ups just in positioning for tomorrow.
Hartman
Harrington - Conrad - Hohlbein - Marquess
Arnaud - Jewsbury - Zavagnin - Espinoza
Wolff - Lopez

If Conrad can't go, expect Tyson Wahl to play. As for seeing our two new signings, I'd look for Espinoza to be subbed out for one of the two to come on with Lopez dropping back.

PREDICTION - While Houston is undermanned, the Wizards have not done well this season when playing undermanned sides. Hopefully the Wizards can take advantage of it and Gomez and Thompson have immediate impacts. Unfortunately I'm just not seeing a result tomorrow down in Houston.

KC - 1 (Wolff)
Hou - 2 (Kamara, Jaqua)
