Wizards Welcome 2 Familiar Opponents

The Wizards will have 2 familiar opponents at Arrowhead tomorrow afternoon for their noon kickoff. The first being DC United. The Wizards defeated United 4-2 in their season opener this season on goals by Michael Harrington, Sasha Victorine, Eddie Johnson, and Scott Sealy. The Wizards continued to climb the table from there, while DC struggled. Those rolls have changed lately, though, as DC has started to climb up the table, while KC has not won a game since Eddie Johnson left for the Gold Cup (0-2-2).

The other opponent on Wednesday will be referee Michael Kennedy, who is best know to Wizards fans as the referee in the MLS Cup Final from 2004, where he helped DC beat KC 3-2 in the final by not calling a hand ball on Alecko Eskandarian right before he scored one of his goals in the game. Jimmy Conrad brought the feelings of most Wizards fans out in one of his articles from after the game. With an Ode to Michael Kennedy.

“An ode to Michael Kennedy”
You are small
And I am tall.
So let’s forget
The Napoleon complex and the non-call,
I love you Michael Kennedy!

As for the lineup, we might see a few differences from Sunday's lineup, both Aaron Hohlbein and Sasha Victorine are both listed as questionable for the match. If both can't go, then I'd expect a lineup like this:

Hartman
Jewsbury - Garcia - Wahl - Burciaga
Zavagnin
Arnaud - Marinelli - Harrington
Sealy - Movsisyan

Prediction

The Wizards haven't been playing very well latey, and DC has, they're defense has shored up, and their offense is scoring. United hasn't played since last Thursday against Colorado, while the Wizards played on Sunday, so the extra rest I'm sure will have an effect on the team. I wanna predict a win and a break of the funk, but I really don't see it happening unfortunately.

KC - 1 (Arnaud)
DC - 2 (Emilio, Gomez)
