Chhetri in KC

More news on the Wizards potential signing of Indian striker, Sunil Chhetri. More reports out of India today say that Chhetri is on his way to, and now likely in KC. According to Goal.com, Chhetri was set to land in KC at 0630 Indian Standard time, which is about 10 and a half hours ahead of KC. He's apparently set to sign a long term deal with the league and the Wizards. Goal.com has gotten quotes from his father and his agent confirming the fact that Chhetri is on his way to the US. As for why he returned to India, it was to work on getting his work visa to work in the US.

This will be interesting if the Wizards do in fact sign him, as the Wizards have currently finalized their roster for the start of the 2010 season. It would also appear that the Wizards would need to get rid of an international player to sign Chhetri. With 4 forwards already listed on the roster, it could be Zoltan Hercegfalvi who could return to Hungary. Or it could potentially be Santiago Hirsig, because as I said last week, the Wizards are deep at the center midfield position.

Keep Zoltan! He brings a strong determination to the field and my family really enjoys watching him play.

(Selfish reasons, I know)

I vote to Hirsig goes. Dont really see a need for him at attacking mid and dont like what he does as d-mid. Wing it out of the question, I like wingers that are dangerous in space and who can cross.
