Final Draft Day Thoughts

About 10 minutes until the MLS Draft starts and the deals are already being made. Philadelphia has grabbed a third pick inside the top 7 by grabbing the 6th pick from Dallas after acquiring the 7th pick from DC last night.

The Wizards have the 4th, 20th, 36th, 41st, and 52nd picks. The pick everyone is talking about right now is the number 4 pick. As I mentioned in the podcast the other night, I think the Wizards will be grabbing Teal Bunbury, the son of former Wizard, Alex Bunbury. As Peter Vermes mentions in the Star today, the Wizards are looking for attacking players, and with Danny Mwanga being the number 1 pick, Bunbury is the next best striker on the board. Of course offense doesn't mean just forward, Corben Bone from Wake Forest would be a good offensive midfield pick up, and there was the talk of KC trading up to try and get Tony Tchani. All would definitely provide a boost to the current team.

In the later rounds, a lot of mock drafts have the Wizards taking a keeper, which might not be a bad move. With 5 picks, the Wizards have the ability to continue their house cleaning they said they would do. I'll be here posting the players the Wizards grab, so stay tuned.
