Wizards Draw Again

The Wizards closed out their time in Mexico with a 0-0 draw with Salamanca FC's first team today in Mexico. KC put out a very likely first team, minus Boris Pardo, who played the entire game in net. Like the friendly against Chivas earlier in their trip, the Wizards made only limited substitutions. The first was a forced substitution in only the 40th minute of what would appear to be a rough first half. Nine yellow cards were handed out, and Wizards midfielder, Santiago Hirsig was red carded. Since it was a friendly, KC was allowed to replace Hirsig, with Graham Zusi coming on.

In the second half, both teams were able to get 2 shots on goal, but both keepers held their ground and kept the shutout. Herculez Gomez was able to get more time playing the last 20 minutes, in his second game back from knee surgery. Abe Thompson came in with Gomez, before Kevin Souter rounded out the subs coming on for Zusi in the 75th after he turned an ankle, but it's said he should be ok.
