Some Numbers Ahead of Clash with Fire Friday

Here's a few random numbers I came up with for you ahead of this Friday's game against the Chicago Fire.

0 - Number of wins Sporting has over the Fire since the team's move to Kansas.  KC is 0-2-4 (W-L-D) against the Fire since the team's first year at CAB in 2008.  And in a 2001 US Open Cup loss and KC is 0-3-4 against the Fire in the Sunflower State.

0 - It's also the number of goals that KC has scored against the Fire at Livestrong Sporting Park.  In 180 minutes, KC has yet to find the back of the net at home against their "rival".

3 - KC's magic number.  A win on Friday and Sporting KC will clinch a playoff spot.

4 - Number of points to guarantee a top 4 finish.  This would mean that KC would at least host the play in game of the playoffs.

4 - Is also the number of games in a row the Fire have won in league play..  Only one of those wins though (vs Toronto) was on the road.

8 - Sporting's current unbeaten run, their longest of the season, topping their 7 game unbeaten run to start the season.

717 - The numbers of days on Friday it will have been since KC beat the Fire in any game.  The last game KC won against Chicago was a 2-0 win in Chicago on 10/12/10.  That is also the Fire's last loss against an Eastern Conference team at home.
1,864 - The number of days on Friday it will have been since KC won a game at home against the Fire, 5 years, 1 month, 6 days since KC's 3-2 win on 8/22/07 at Arrowhead against the Fire, a 3-2 win that saw Sasha Victorine, Scott Sealy, and Jose Burciaga Jr all score for KC.
