Nielsen Green Card, Rangers Fall

Ahead of tonight's USA game, where Graham Zusi is set to earn his 4th cap as a starter tonight, here is some news for you.

Nielsen Receive Green Card

Today on Twitter, Jimmy Nielsen announced that he had earned his green card.  With that, Nielsen will now no longer count as an international player on Sporting's roster.  US laws require that a green card holder be treated the same as a citizen, so Nielsen will now count as a domestic player.  He's the second player in the last month or so to pick up his green card, joining Julio Cesar.  Those two picking up their green cards allows KC some more roster flexibility heading into next season, which could be a way to bring in a striker.

Rangers Fall

The Swope Park Rangers dropped their 3rd straight reserve league match today out at Swope Park against Reserve Salt Lake (RSL, get it?) 1-0.  From reports, KC controlled much of the play but seemed to suffer from the same finishing problems as the first team.  Then in the 58th minute, Jon Kempin brought down Emiliano Bonfigli in the box, denying a goal scoring opportunity and the goalkeeper was sent off.  Academy keeper, Jacole Turner came on, but Bongifli scored the only goal of the game giving RSL the win.  The Rangers have 1 more game left in the reserve league this season, two weeks from today when they play Dallas down in Dallas.

Wasn't Collin working on/close to his green card this summer?
