S.A.S. Thursday After Stats


Plenty of player stats from the game last night, but also some team records are starting to fall as well.

The win was Peter Vermes' 53rd in all competitions, breaking his tie with Ron Newman for the second most wins on that list.

Kei Kamara made his 200th appearance in all competitions in his MLS career.

Kamara's goal was his 31st in league play for KC, tying him with Mo Johnston for 5th on that list.

Kamara's goal was his 33rd in all competitions, breaking his tie with Johnston for 5th on that list.

Kamara's goal was his 10th in league play away from home for KC, that ties him with Scott Sealy and Johnston for 7th on that list.

It was Kamara's 10th in all competitions away from home too, tying him with Sealy and Johnston for 7th on that list.

Sporting won their 8th road game of the season, equaling their number of road wins for the last 2 seasons combined.  They only trail the shootout aided 1997 season by 1 road win.

Sporting KC also tied a team record for wins in a non-shootout season, tying the 16 by done in the 2000 season.

After the game, Sporting has more goals away from home (19) than they have at home (18) this season, having played 1 more home game.

In the 25th minute, Matt Besler moved past Bo Oshoniyi and into 17th place for the list of minutes in all competitions, he finished the game with 9,747 mintues played.

In the 72nd minute, Besler moved past Oshoniyi and into 18th place for league minutes, played, he finished the game wtih 8,451 minutes.

Besler made his 114th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Victorine for 20th on that list.

Besler made his 93rd league start, tying him with Chung for 18th on that list.

Julio Cesar made his 50th start in all competitions for KC, he's the 47th player to do this.

The win for Jimmy Nielsen was his 16th of the season, setting a new team record for wins in a non-shootout season.
