Espinoza and Honduras Advance

Roger Espinoza got his first minutes of the Gold Cup, starting for Honduras in their Gold Cup quarterfinal against Costa Rica. Espinoza started and played 80 minutes before making way for Carlo Costly. The Honduras defeated the Costa Ricans on penalty kicks 4-2 after finishing the game tied 1-1. Espinoza helped to set up the Honduran goal, sending a long ball over the top to Javier Portillo. Portillo dribbled into the box and fired a shot that was saved. The rebound though fell to Jerry Bengtson who scored. The goal early in the first half had given the Hondurans a 1-0 lead before Costa Rica tied it up. Honduras now plays Mexico who took care of Guatemala 2-1 after falling behind 1-0 early in the game.
