Wizards Trialist

The Wizards have had another trialist in this week, and if a poster on bigsoccer is correct, the player is Zahui Thierry from the Ivory Coast. Thierry has played for both the U-17 and U-20 Ivory Coast national team. It would appear that in the 2008 season, he scored 2 goals for African Sports Academy, his club team. He's also played in the African club competitions. Looking at photos that Thad took of the trialist, he's not exactly a big player, in fact, he almost makes Lance Watson look big in comparison. Thad's report is that he appears to have some decent ball skills and played in the middle of midfield.

This is a continuation of Peter Vermes' efforts to tap into the African market. Last year the Wizards had talks with scouts and other people in Africa to help them find players. Hopefully this is the beginning of the Wizards getting into the African player market.
