A Win Please

I'm honestly tired of this winless streak, how about you? The Wizards haven't won since they beat New England back in June (I'm sounding like a broken record saying that, but it's true). Tomorrow night the Wizards welcome Real Salt Lake to CAB. The good news for Wizards fans is that Real Salt Lake is not a good road team. Salt Lake is 1-8-2 on the road this season, having only scored 6 goals on the road all season. They're also going to be playing their 3rd game in 7 days, having played on Sunday in New England and on Wednesday at home against Chivas before coming to KC. Against Chivas, though, their offense clicked and they lit the Goats up for 4 goals Wednesday night. With the way the Wizards offense is going, if the Wizards even allow 1 goal right now the game seems to be over.

As for the Wizards, they've had the week to reflect on giving up a stoppage time winner to San Jose. The injuries get less and less, and with no suspensions, Peter Vermes has his largest player pool to choose from yet on who is going to be starting. There's bound to be a change or two to the lineup, as he continues to try to find a winning combination. I think we may get to see Matt Besler get his first shot at center back.
Hartman
Watson - Conrad - Besler - Harrington
Hirsig
Gomez - Jewsbury - Lopez
Arnaud - Wolff

Key Match Up - Santiago Hirsig and Kyle Beckerman - Hirsig will have his hands full dealing with Beckerman who is having another solid season for RSL, including a call up for the Gold Cup and the upcoming qualifiers against El Salvador and Trinidad.

PREDICTION - If the Wizards want to make the playoffs, almost every game from here on out is a must win, especially the home games. CAB hasn't been the home field it was last season, but they'll have to make it one tomorrow if they want a shot at the playoffs. A loss and this team will just continue their free fall. Can KC do it? I honestly have my doubts. The offense has looked anemic for quite a few games now with few chances created overall. But I think if they can get one goal things may fall into place. I'm going to try and be optimistic.

KC - 1 (Gomez)
RSL - 0

Hopefully this is a win as well. This game is supposed to be college night so I know there will be a bus or two full of KU students at the game which hopefully will make the atmosphere fun.
Seriously though, piss the atmosphere if there is no W for the Wizards after this game. Losing has gotten old.
