Wizards Win in Mexico

The Wizards won their first game of the Mexican leg of their preseason. Playing a team made up of Atlas reserves, the Wizards took care of business against their sister club 3-0. Santiago Hirsig made his first appearance with the Wizards playing the first 45 minutes as the right midfielder. The rest of what could very well be the opening day lineup played at least the first 45 minutes. The Wizards took the lead in the 36th minute when Davy Arnaud found Jack Jewsbury who one timed his effort into the net.

After only 2 changes at half time, the other 9 starters were subbed out in the 60th minute. The Wizards doubled their lead in the 65th minute, when Nelson Pizarro found Kevin Souter. Only 3 minutes later Kurt Morsink made it 3-0.

Not appearing in the game today were Herculez Gomez, Eric Kronberg, Chance Myers, and Doug DeMartin, all who I believe are recovering from injury. Other players that didn't play today that I'm not sure why were Adam Cristman and Lance Watson. Trialist Ferenc BĂ©res played the last 30 minutes, while Chris Brown did not.

Here is the lineup from the game today.
Kevin Hartman (Boris Pardo 60); Jonathan Leathers (Nelson Pizarro (60), Jimmy Conrad (Rauwshan McKenzie 60), Aaron Hohlbein (Matt Besler 60), Michael Harrington (Matt Marquess 46); Santiago Hirsig (Kurt Morsink 46), Davy Arnaud (Ferenc Beres 60), Jack Jewsbury (Kevin Souter 60), Roger Espinoza (Graham Zusi 60); Josh Wolff (Abe Thompson 60), Claudio Lopez (Michael Kraus 60)
