US Leave Toulon Winless

The US lost their third and final group play game today in Toulon, France 2-0 to Italy. Wizards defender Jonathan Leathers started the game at right back for the US, where he matched up against Italy's number 10, Sebastian Giovinco. Giovinco had scored two goals against the Ivory Coast earlier in the tournament, so it was no easy task for Leathers. Leathers performed well in the situation, though, keeping Giovinco off the scoreboard and under control for the most part. Leathers will now return to Kansas City to join back up with the Wizards and should be available for the team's New Mexico Cup match.
