Random Wizards News

Not any huge news today, but there are a few interesting bits of information out there about the Wizards and former Wizards today.

First dealing with current Wizards.

There's not a big mention of this, but the Star did mention today in an article about Jack Jewsbury, that Wizards midfielder, Herculez Gomez will miss a month of training due to an injury. Gomez suffered a lateral meniscal tear in the second day of training and will be out 4-6 weeks due to the injury. He'll be fighting to be ready in time for the home opener on the 21st against Toronto. Also on Gomez, there's a good interview with him on kcwizards.com.

The rest of this update is going to be another former Wizards update basically.

First, Carlos Marinelli now with Millonarios, scored on his debut in the semifinals of the International Cup in their 2-0 win over Argentinos Juniors.

And speaking of recently waived Wizards, one has already found himself a new club, while another is working on it. Ivan Trujillo, has signed in Colombia as well. In fact, he'll get to play Marinelli this coming season in the Copa Mustang, as he's signed with Deportes Quindío.

Ryan Pore is also working on his new team as well. Word is that Seattle Sounders FC are bringing Pore in for a trial starting next week.

On another note, it looks like a bit of controversy is now surrounding Will John, who as I mentioned earlier is going on trial at JJK. Now this may just be nothing, as the Finnish TV station could just be using his stats on wikipedia (which we all know that wikipedia is the be all end all of stats), which if true is just being blown out of proportion.

Gomez won't be 100% for a while. While the surgery is simple, full recovery takes time. I had the same thing in college, we're talking more like 8-10 weeks to be realistic.
