Busy Day On and Off the Field for Sporting KC

Sporting KC had a busy day with news on and off the field as the team pushes towards the 2016 season.

On the field the team closed out the first phase of their preseason in Tucson with a friendly against South Korean side Seongnam FC. KC played two separate teams over the course of the full 90 minute game. The first half saw a fairly reserve side for Kansas City but they couldn't replicate the success they had in the second half last weekend against FC Tucson. In fact neither team had a shot on goal in the first half.

The second half saw KC insert more starters and they were able to create more chances, with Brad Davis being the main catalyst, but neither could score and KC finished with a 0-0 draw against the K-League side. KC will now return to KC for a week before heading back to Tucson for the Desert Diamond Cup.

Off the field KC successfully launched their new secondary jersey during half time of the Super Bowl. Sporting KC had purchased a local spot in the broadcast to show off the new jersey, which is indigo with lighter blue stripes on it. Another great looking jersey in what is becoming a long line of very well done jerseys that do a lot with the templates that are given to the club by Adidas.
