Van Den Bergh Named US U15 Coach - Former SKC Wizards Update

The US Boys U15 team has a new head coach, former Kansas City winger, Dave van den Bergh. After stops with New York and Dallas after leaving Kansas City, the former Dutch international became an assistant coach for the US U20 team under both Thomas Rongen and Tab Ramos.

Former Wizards Update

Back again with another week of former Wizards updates. First off, congratulations to Stephen Armstrong and John Wilson, two former Wizards who are on the Charleston Battery team that won the USL-2 title this past weekend, beating former Wizards Edson Elcock and Yomby William 2-1 in the final. Elcock got Richmond's goal in the losing effort. Also, congrats to Eddie Johnson who made Fulham's 25 man roster for the first half of the EPL season. Finally, Dave van den Bergh's whereabouts are known now, he's an assistant coach for the US U-20 team. The USL season is now completely done as Montreal are the Champions. I've also found two more former Wizards plying their trade in Trinidad. Both Gary Glasgow and Anthony Noriega are playing for United Petrotrin of the Trinidad Pro League. Glasgow had 3 goals this season for Petrotrin.

We also have news that looks like it will effect two former Wizards, as the Argentine league has suspended the Apertura season. This means Eloy Colombano and Carlos Marinelli may not get to play right away in Argentina this season.

Two Former Wizards in MLS Cup

Two former Wizards will meet on the field next Sunday in the MLS Cup final. Thursday night in Columbus, Will Hesmer helped Columbus to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire, advancing to their first MLS Cup. On Saturday, their opponent was decided, as the New York Red Bulls, beat Salt Lake 1-0 to advance to mee the Crew next weekend in LA. New York's 1 goal came from former Wizard Dave van den Bergh. The trip will be New York's first trip to the finals as well.
