More Call Ups for Sporting KC

Today more call ups were announced for the upcoming FIFA international dates coming up next week.  Kansas City learned yesterday that Peterson Joseph and Mechack Jerome had been called up for Haiti's friendly against Korea. Now today we learned two more players had been called up.  The US national team named their roster for the upcoming qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico next week. Unsurprisingly Matt Besler and Graham Zusi were both called up.  Both of those players are expected to play a big role in the two games. Four points in those two games will assure the USA's qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The pair will miss Sporting's game next week against Columbus.

Sporting KC also looks likely to be without another player as well, although there's been no announcement that I can find. The Philadelphia Union posted an article about Michael Lahoud accepting a call up to Sierra Leone for their World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea. In the article it mentions that Lahoud will be relying on Kei Kamara to know what to expect as he'd been called up for the game as well. So Kamara looks set to miss the game as well which will leave KC down five players for the game against Columbus.

Will be rough if Saad is called up as well. PV may be working hard to keep him Columbus.

There's a bunch of chatter about Donovan starting in place of Zusi.

Don't see it. Donovan played the 2nd forward in the four easier Gold Cup games and played underneath the point-striker in the 2 games against Costa Rica.

If anyone is going to take Zusi's spot, it's Bedoya. And he might.

Disagree, Donovan is the more likely to take Zusi's place. But I think both will play, I think it'll actually be Fabian Johnson that will make way with Donovan on 1 side, Zusi the other.

We'll see. It wouldn't be the first time that I"m wrong.

I was among the crowd that thought F. Johnson would slide back, however, Klinnsman's roster choices and commentary seeing FJ as a left mid shaped my view.

I still question whether Klinnsman sees him as a mid or as a forward.

Zusi vs Donovan: it's Donovan.

Dempsey vs Donovan: it's Dempsey in his eyes.

To bolster your case, neither Evans nor Cameron will be expected to contribute offensively.
