Arnaud Up for Goal of the Week

It's been a rare occurrence that a Wizards goal has been up for Goal of the Week this season. But Davy Arnaud's free kick goal against Philadelphia is up for Goal of the Week this week. While the homer in me wants to vote for Arnaud's blast, part of me is inclined to vote for Omar Cummings goal. While the finish is a little pedestrian, the set up cutting his defender twice is fantastic. Go get your vote on. See the goal below.

Goal of the Week Voting

Been a while since one of these have been posted. The save of the week nominees have come in bunches for goalkeeper, Jimmy Nielsen (and I'm sure he'll have another this week). This week though the Wizards also have a goal of the week nominee. Kei Kamara's header into the elbow of the goal is one of the 5 up for goal of the week this week. It was a fantastic header, but the highlights don't do the assist by Ryan Smith justice as it cuts out the cut he does on the two defenders. Still you can go vote, and watch the goal below.

Kamara Up for Goal of the Week

It wasn't a big week of games, but Wizards forward, Kei Kamara's blast against the Philadelphia Union is up for goal of the week (and currently winning by a big margin). So get out and continue to vote, and enjoy the goal again below, along with Sasha Victorine's great comment about "baby bounces on the school yard".

Kamara Up for Goal of the Week

Kei Kamara's first goal from Saturday night against the Fire is up for Goal of the Week this week. The goal has some stiff competition with goals by Fredy Montero and Danny Mwanga but get out and vote for Kamara's 4th goal of the season. Check the goal out again below.

Zoltan for Goal of the Week

Wizards forward, Zoltan Hercegfalvi's equalizer is up for Goal of the Week. Zoltan took a one time shot off of a lofted ball into the box by Claudio Lopez. Zoltan's shot had enough power on it to get past Pat Onstad. Check out the goal below. By the way, I love the call on this goal. De Zoltan!

Wolff Up for Goal of the Week

Josh Wolff's deft little touch off of Zoltan Hercegfalvi's strike is up for goal of the week this week. Wolff got just enough of Hercegfalvi's shot to redirect it into the net against Dallas to tie the score at 2-2.

Lopez Up for Goal of the Week

Not surprisingly, Claudio Lopez is up for Goal of the Week this week for his long range bomb over the head of Donovan Ricketts in the LA net. It's probably also one of the goals of the year in MLS this season. If you haven't seen it, or even if you have, check it out again.

Arnaud up for Goal of the Week

Davy Arnaud's hard charging run and give and go with Claudio Lopez led to the Wizards first goal against the Revolution this past weekend. That goal is now up for Goal of the Week this week. It's got some pretty stiff competition this week.

Lopez Up for Goal of the Week

The Wizards again have a goal nominated for Goal of the Week. Claudio Lopez's free kick against Chivas USA is one of this week's five nominees. Lopez has stiff competition from Amado Guevara of TFC and Fredy Montero of Seattle. Check out Lopez's goal then go vote.

Wolff Up for Goal of the Week Again

Once again, Josh Wolff is up for Goal of the Week. His first goal on Saturday night against Real Salt Lake is up for the award this week. It's got some tough competition from Eddie Lewis and Santino Quaranta in particular. Check the goal out again.

Wolff Up for Goal of the Week

Josh Wolff's header goal that made it 3-2 last night is up for Goal of the Week this week. The MLS site does not have the voting open yet, but you can see all the goals in this Youtube video posted on the MLS Youtube account. You can see Wolff's goal again below. For me the thing that makes this worthy isn't the finish, but the great cross by Jack Jewsbury. It's similar to Wolff's last goal up for goal of the week when he scored against Chicago.

No Goal of the Week Nominee

Anyone that was watching the KC game against Seattle this past weekend and saw Davy Arnaud's blast that won the game knew it'd be a challenger for goal of the week this week. Unfortunately due to some issue with the highlights, likely the same issue that affected the Match Center, the goal is not up for goal of the week this week. The highlights, though, are now up on MLSnet and if you want to watch the goal again, you can so here.

Lopez Up for Goal of the Week

Claudio Lopez's goal from yesterday's 2-0 win over San Jose is up for Goal of the Week this week. The goal itself is nothing too flashy, but is set up by a fantastic cross field ball by Herculez Gomez.

Arnaud Rocket Up for Goal of the Week

Once again Davy Arnaud gets himself up for goal of the week with a rocket off of his left foot for the Wizards first goal in the Wizards 3-2 loss to Toronto on Saturday. Arnaud up for Goal of the Week

Davy Arnaud's strike from this weekend's 3-1 win over New England is up for Goal of the Week this week. Arnaud's strike is up against some very good competition this week, including nice strikes from both Chris Rolfe and Brad Evans.

Harrington Up for Goal of the Week

For the fourth week in a row, the Wizards have a goal up for goal of the week. This week, Michael Harrington's equalizer that he curved around the keeper is up for goal of the week. Go here to vote.

Josh Wolff's nice bicycle kick goal against Chivas over the weekend is up for the Goal of the Week honor. He's currently sitting in first place ahead of Marvell Wynne's goal for Toronto FC. Get your votes here in for the bike.

Arnaud GOLAZO

Davy Arnaud's golazo against LA Saturday night is up for Goal of the Week this week. There are some good goals this week, but I don't think you can top the laser into the upper 90 that Arnaud hit.
