The t...I totally agree with all the comments here. The throwing was embarrasing, but I also knew that the cops and security would over react. The cow on the field wasn't really a big deal and mildly entertaining at best. I thought the very large security woman tackling the cow on the field linebacker style was both sad and amusing to observe. That woman was BIG! Also, cops handcuffing him on the field was a bit of an over reaction and not something that fans really needed to see.

A better response: flank the guy on both sides, escort him off the field, and cuff him when he's out of sight. I think that this only caused the majority of fans to 'boo' or 'moo' at the cops, and that's certainly something that really shouldn't go down.

But, the cow scored the only goal of the game, and the actual game was somewhat dire. We got outplayed by a thoroughly mediocre Chicago side, and it just shows that something needs to happen for KC.

Finally, the hired security were WAY too aggressive in my opinion. I was in the supporter's section and felt pretty uncomfortable everytime this Mr. T looking twat patrolled up and down the bleacher section with this "I want to kick someone's ass; I pity the fool whose ass I'm going to kick" expression all over his face. Combine all the pre-game binge drinking with a heavy handed security staff and only bad shit WILL and CAN go down. I think that maybe Sporting should hire a more experienced and mild security staff next time.blairdev26https://www.blogger.com/profile/16142664997271988344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36669930.post-27634031128683074512011-06-10T12:33:11.818-05:002011-06-10T12:33:11.818-05:00The obvious answer is to have cameras fixed on the...The obvious answer is to have cameras fixed on the supporters section. ESPN2 covered the incidents well.

For eternity, Fire fans will recall the throwing incident and the attendees there for the event aspect looking for a reason to not come back will cling to it as well.

Otherwise, it is just another incident in a long history of such across all sports in the US. I've seen it happen in multiple pro venues across the major sports, I doubt there are many if any colleges that have not had similar occur in football and basketball. I've seen it at high school games.

Don't like it, don't condone it, but also don't read much into it.

It's up to the fans to figure out who they are as a fan base. They can endorse it with a "Hell yeah" or they can make sure security is able to find the offenders and eject them and they can make sure those people don't feel welcome amongst them.Mark Fhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01946816783000851610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36669930.post-11837925922446246062011-06-10T10:17:25.080-05:002011-06-10T10:17:25.080-05:00The cow did take the best shot on the Chicago goal...The cow did take the best shot on the Chicago goal all night.Reepicheephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01614939842967705669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36669930.post-11976082360896179792011-06-10T10:05:30.890-05:002011-06-10T10:05:30.890-05:00Drew, I think you meant both teams were equally ba...Drew, I think you meant both teams were equally bad, not good. Blantant penalty, but both teams were just as good as each other, and I think the Fire were a bit better overall. From what I've seen on TV the throwing of "shit" wasn't that big of a deal. Yes, we didn't see it all but I don't think we should worry about it. KC with 7 points is a bigger deal in my opinion. It may not be positive atmosphere, but a positive one can come of it with the right attitude approaching it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if the suits come down heavy handed. The stadium did look great, even though some people threw stuff on the field; worse can always happen at a football match. At least people aren't getting physically hurt.Drewhttp://pitchsideview.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36669930.post-3307186834256622882011-06-10T02:21:19.592-05:002011-06-10T02:21:19.592-05:00a large portion of the bottle throwing and other s...a large portion of the bottle throwing and other shit pertains to a couple of incidents with the security guys getting a bit handsy. did you see any of that?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36669930.post-8326262588654575842011-06-10T02:14:28.049-05:002011-06-10T02:14:28.049-05:00Agree on no 'the' in the blue hell sign.
